About Nanci

Earning her B.A. in  Arts & Crafts and their History at University of California Santa Cruz, Nanci Cook worked as studio potter for 14 years on Hornby Island before moving to Quadra Island in 1991. A believer in life-long learning, Nanci mainly paints in her island studio with acrylics, and some oils, pastels and watercolour.  Nanci loves to paint outside (plein air) with other artists when possible. She uses delicious colours, forms and shapes that often reflect her background in pottery and are influenced by her love of island life. Nanci and her husband, Tracy Tomlinson moved to Campbell River BC in November 2016, where they plan to stay for a while with the two cats and garden.

Nanci will help host the  new Campbell River Paint Out September 10 & 11, 2022 as part of the International Plein Air Painters’ Great  Worldwide Paint Out.

She is an active member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and would be happy to consider commissions and rentals.
